Pros

  • Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X is also not a bad option in this price range and FiiO FT3 (32Ohm version) but I'd give slight edge to Moondrop Horizon

  • Parent context: I impulsively bought Moondrop Horizon, because it was on a discount. Reply: On a discount already? I only see it at shenzen audio and as a treble sensitive I find it very enticing
  • I impulsively bought Moondrop Horizon, because it was on a discount. I'm not a regular on this sub. they are surprisingly similar to these headphones I wanted to compare to. but a little different.

whenever I pull them apart to put them on, they are so easy I over stretch them and pull them wider than I need to. Because the headband metal is so thin, it makes me feel like I might gradually weaken or snap the headband. ... I noticed this is what is probably causing the cable noise as well, because the metal used is thin? the entire headphone has like a vibrating quality.

After EQing them to what I consider natural/neutral sounding and listening to them for few more hours, with music I am familiar with. I am satisfied with the sound very much, natural sound with very spacious qualities helped by filling in 9khz~15khz highs with an upwards tilt.

the clamp force is very light. it's very comfortable but almost too light you don't want to be head banging with this one. ... The cable does seem sturdy and resistant to being twisted, but it does make quite a bit of noise when handling it when plugged in to the headphones (noise transmits to the headphones). ... they are going to be very bass light. because the deeper bass isn't all there just like HD600. but surprisingly, no I didn't think so, at least the upper bass was fine. ... I do wish there was more depth to the bass ... when I put some Metal on I did notice the dip in the cymbals area.

Was expecting the Horizon to be in 300$ range like the AR5000, didn't expect 200 tbh.

I have listened to the Horizon for about 2 days now, it is decent for the price, I prefer it over the HD600
