All of these would be suitable to learn synthesis on and to make a lot of sounds with, with the UDO or Summit probably having the biggest range since it can go beyond the basic waveforms easily.

I would try the Prophet 10 or Moog Muse. Both have deeper crossmod options than the OB-XA, allowing you to get the most out of those VCOs.

I think the P6 layout if much quicker and easier to understand whereas the Muse maybe has a bit more as far as possibilities but would take a lot longer to get comfortable with top to bottom. There is also more UI on the Muse vs the P6....

Reviews looked to be somewhat disappointing on build quality so couldn’t pull the trigger at that price point.
I even sold my Moog Muse because I preferred the PB6.
As for sound (I’m no pro)…it was underwhelming. My Muse replacement (Prophet Rev2) and Subsequent 37 both leave my jaw regularly on the floor, but the Muse even when stable rarely “wowed” or inspired me.

I think the P6 layout if much quicker and easier to understand whereas the Muse maybe has a bit more as far as possibilities but would take a lot longer to get comfortable with top to bottom. There is also more UI on the Muse vs the P6. ... Sound wise, they both sound great, just different. I think the P6 actually sounds more modern and the Muse is more focused on producing vintage tones, which is the opposite of what I think people might assume.

I just returned a Moog Muse because while it sounds absolutely gorgeous when it actually worked to full capability, it got out of tune so fast, startup takes at least 2-3 minutes, needed about 30minutes to an hour in order to warm up (and that's at 75F indoors), it wasn't a good synth for the price.

After debating / weighing a few poly synth options, I found a Muse on Craigslist in like-new condition for an incredible price, so I decided to jump on it. ... Over the first hour or so with it, I did notice some small issues with tuning and stuck notes. However, once I updated the firmware and ran a full tune + calibration (took about 2 hours total), everything seems to be sorted. It’s been rock solid since. It’s a really gratifying synth to operate. I feel like you can get it sounding incredible with very little effort.

I also have a different experience sound wise, it absolutely inspires me both to play, and to explore sound design.

Picked up a new Muse three weeks ago from my local Guitar Center, and from the moment it was set up until it went back in the box a few days ago it was a nightmare to deal with. I had read about the tuning stability problems, the midi glitches, and all the other various bugs that plagued the Muse’s launch but had hoped the most recent firmware update would fix it. It did not.
