Monte Carlo (aquarium plant)

Pros

• I love a Monte Carlo!
• i want to get rid of the bristlenose as they just destroy whatever i try to do with the sand, and put a carpet of monte carlo.
• Staurogyne repens and Monte Carlo. Two super easy plants that look nice.
• **Monte Carlo** has some nice pieces too if you want a slightly sharper look without going full formal.
• Dry start for me has always always worked really well.

Cons

• For me, monte carlo grows really well, in that it grows a dense, lush, and hardy carpet, but spreads painfully slow. Took a year to carpet my 10 gallon.
• So it’s possible to grow Monte Carlo without CO2, but don’t expect a beautiful lush green carpet. But it won’t necessarily die off either with the right conditions. Maybe in 2-3 years I’ll get a carpet…
• Monte Carlo won’t do well, even with fertilizers and root tabs and good lighting. I tried to grow some this way, using liquid fertilizer and root tabs, I just grew lots of algae.
• If you don't have CO2, you can try monte carlo or dwarf hair grass, but it's going to take a long time if it even survives.
• Some people may have better luck with drystarting MC, but when I did it My God it felt like I just threw away my money and time because they all melted anyway.
