AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Miele C3 Kona is a premium canister vacuum highly recommended for its durability, HEPA filtration, and powerful performance on carpets and pet hair. While it carries a high price tag, users frequently describe it as a 'lifetime' appliance that excels in both cleaning capability and quiet operation.

Pros

  • Excellent HEPA filtration, which users note is superior to many competitors
  • Includes the articulating Parquet Twister floor tool for hard surfaces
  • Convenient onboard storage for all three standard attachments
  • Highly effective at cleaning carpets and managing pet hair
  • Quiet operation and robust build quality intended to last decades

Cons

  • High retail cost, frequently cited as being over $1,000
  • Reports that Miele is discontinuing the Kona model
  • Some users find the bag-seating mechanism can be finicky

Caveats

  • Pricing varies significantly; while retail is high, local dealers may offer the unit for $850–$927
  • The model's reported discontinuation may impact future availability
  • Evidence is older (median age ~401 days), which is significant for a product potentially being phased out

Best for

  • Allergy sufferers who need high-grade HEPA filtration
  • Pet owners and households with a mix of carpet and hard floors
  • Buyers looking for a long-term investment in a durable vacuum

Avoid if

  • You are looking for a budget-friendly option under $800
  • You prefer the specific ergonomics or wand-mounted storage of brands like Sebo

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median source age of approximately 401 days, and confidence is adjusted to reflect potential changes in availability due to the product's reported discontinuation.

The correct comparison is adding all the electric accessories to the Limited Edition vs. buying a C3 Kona (@$850).

Both are excellent vacuums. The Kona comes with the excellent parquet twister, the Sebo comes with a basic parquet floor brush that does not articulate like the Miele. The Kona has Hepa filtration which is slightly better than Sebo’s hospital grade filtration. All 3 attachments store on board the Kona, only 2 of the Sebo attachments are onboard, the brush is clipped to the wand.
