Miele C2
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Miele C2 is generally regarded as a high-quality, mid-range canister vacuum that excels on both hard floors and rugs, particularly when equipped with a power head. While many users appreciate its robust manual buttons and 'workhorse' reliability for pet hair and heavy messes, others criticize the durability of internal plastic components like filter holders and note that it is manufactured in China.
Pros
- Effective on both hard floors and thick area rugs when used with a power head
- Manual buttons are often viewed as more robust and less prone to failure than C3 touchpads
- Considered a reliable 'workhorse' for heavy weekly cleaning and high-shed pet hair
- Quiet operation reported for certain models, particularly compared to older vacuums
Cons
- Internal components like filter holders and the outer case can be delicate and prone to breaking
- Some users find the 'Powerline' versions to be significantly louder than advertised
- Manufactured in China, which some enthusiasts perceive as a lower build quality compared to German-made models
Caveats
- Must be used with a bag; running the unit bagless causes severe internal dust accumulation and potential damage
- Performance and noise levels vary significantly between the 890W Powerline and 550W Ecoline versions
- Often described as a hybrid model that sits between the C1 and C3 series in terms of features
Best for
- Homes with a mix of hard flooring and carpets
- Pet owners who need a reliable bagged canister vacuum for deep cleaning
- Users who prefer physical, tactile buttons over digital touch controls
Avoid if
- You prefer the convenience of a bagless vacuum system
- You require the absolute quietest vacuum available (specifically avoid the Powerline models)
- You tend to be rough with vacuum maintenance and internal plastic parts

I run a Miele C2 with a power head. I used to have high shed dogs, and I’d also run a Roomba daily plus vacuum
I have two Miele cleaners. One canister which is my work horse (c2 with a power head for rugs) on thick area rugs and heavy messes/weekly cleaning
Miele C2. Nothing else.
Take a look on my page i posted about a miele C2 used without a bag you can see how dirty they get inside
C2 - Older Model but great on hard floors and rugs (bagged) https://amzn.to/4kVZXSt
The compact(c1 and c2) are absolute junk. The filter holders and case for them are incredibly delicate and while its user error that breaks them, they just don't hold up.
The C2 (while still great) is made in China.
Seemed like c2 is usually a lot more expensive and of higher quality. So ended up going with that since there wasn't a significant price difference between c2 and the other 2.
Im currently trying to decide between the miele c1 classic, the miele c2, the kenmoor 600 series, the shark az3002 and the shark az4002.
I went with the Miele C2 since it was on sale for Prime Day ($423). This looks a lot sleeker than the Henry.
