Pros
- Enjoying Shadow of Mordor in a rereading run of LOTR in parallel. This game is pure flow and addiction : arcadish and satisfying simple beat em all, in high fantasy setting.
- Shadow of Mordor stole their "nemesis" mechanics from previous games just as much as it stole from Batman Arkham for its combat.
- I remember that truly enjoyed shadow of Mordor and Idk why shadow of war has been so difficult to get me into it
- I put ~70 in shadow of mordor and 47 in shadow of war. The nemesis system, while nice, doesn't keep me hooked infinitely so I did the stories, quests, locations, achievements and that's it for me
- I'm thinking Shadow of Mordor/Spiderman-esque mechanics
Cons
- Feels like they needed a lot more explaining to Shadow of the tomb raider after Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War
- the Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor/War; ... But none of these has any real depth beyond simply levelling up to unlock new abilities and moving to new areas. Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle.

I recently finished Shadow of War. It's been so long since I played Shadow of Mordor that I'm not sure how it compares, but I had a lot of fun with it.
Parent context: I played the Shadow of Mordor some years ago so I don't recall much but the one difference that stood out is that I remembered that the first game "looked" better which was a sentiment that was shared by others.
I enjoyed Shadow of Mordor in the past but for some reason I really got stuck into the sequel.
