Meze Empyrean

I had the same reaction to them, its a headboppinh type of hesdphone.

Parent context: I would honestly love it if Meze released a Poor People version of the Empyrean or the Elite. It's one of the most comfortable, non-fatiguing headphones I've ever tried but I can't justify that price and I absolutely don't care about their fancy designs. Love the Empyreans, a gorgeous design. They aren't the most "Technical" or "Tonally neutral" headphones, but they give a more "Fun" sound which for some is great... Can't forget the amazing build quality, comfort, and easy drivability. It's the whole package!

These just sounded right from the first seconds. The sound feels accurate and exciting. I noticed my head had started to bob on its own several times. A clear winner for me!

A little higher then $800 but a secondhand Empyrean would be a great companion headphone. I've had the Arya/He1000v2/Susvara and while they're all incredible headphones, I prefer the warmth of the Meze lineup (Empyrean OG & Elite, not Empyrean 2).

I just got some Meze Empyrean & they do sound (and look!) like they're worth $3000.

Parent context: Have you compared them vs the Empyrean 2? Reply: I'm in heaven!!! They sound absolutely incredible. Far more bottom end than I thought & thought I'd have to EQ them a touch to get that - I don't.

They are very easily the best overall pair of headphones I've ever heard... they aren't going to touch the imaging & soundstage of the HD800, but that's a very specialised pair that I would never recommend as a one & done... these however - yes absolutely, if you can afford them.
