Despite all its problems, Mexico is a beautiful country and a great place to visit! Once again, I personally recommend taking the opportunity.
I used to get this when I would travel to Mexico with sales samples of goods I would be taking to customer meetings. Not always, but somewhat frequently they would inspect my bag, pull me out and take me to a room and explain to me what violations I was guilty off. The fee for the infractions was always different and would get lower the longer I stayed in the room.
By far the best bang for your buck is Mexico. Nice weather, beautiful culture and great food.
Mexico, it's so diverse it's mind-boggling. I'm from Europe, I lived in Guatemala for 6 years and went on multiple trips to Chiapas and Yucatan. Also went to Mexico city a couple of times, and twice to Oaxaca.
Tbh I’ve been to 5 Caribbean islands + Mexico & Mexico is the clear winner for price and value.
If you want cheap, check out the Caribbean and Mexico. Don't know what flights are like cost wise but once you get to those countries, you should be able to vacation very affordably.
With that budget, I’d say your best bet might be to do some all inclusive down in Mexico. You can probably snag a good deal including airfare and hotels.
Our resort is under attack by cartels….do NOT visit Mexico. The airport had a gun battle and looks like cartels taken over.
There is a small group of Mexican Marines fighting off an army of cartels who want tourists dead. Its dreadful situation……
