Pros
- I never visited Melbourne, but people seem to like it too. I'd be more inclined to go there to see the Great Ocean Road, and see the penguins on Phillip Island.
- Melbourne for 5–6 days works well, especially if you’ve got friends there.
- melbourne's probably the best of the three for pure public transport, and the great ocean road is the obvious day trip but you'd need a coach or tour bus for that one, can't really do it on regular PT.
- Melbourne – laneways, café culture, Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island penguins
- Melbourne remains the gold standard for how a city embraces F1.
Cons
- I'd personally exclude Sydney/Melbourne from the calm vibes myself, but many people from other countries have told me they find them very chill, so it may depend on where you're coming from.
- I frequent Melbourne, Paris, Rome, Singapore quite often but dont really meet alot of new people in these places, not sure how you could do this yourself except stay in hostels and go to organised hostel nights out.
- I think I may have booked too much time in Aus but my hostels are unfortunately non-refundable.
