Pros

  • Meiji Jingu was maybe my favourite spot. I think better than Senso-ji, and the gardens were a peaceful break from the busyness of the city.
  • Early visit to Meiji Jingu Shibuya exploration Shibuya Sky around sunset
  • Meiji Jingu and Nara Park is huge, I spent 3/4 day there each and wish I would have more time.
  • Meiji Jingu and Shibuya Sky are fine on the holiday, crowds spread out.
  • Meiji Jingu was really peaceful and nice to escape the crazy hustle and bustle of the city

Cons

  • Going to Meji Jingu after having been in Kyoto will leave you with a feeling of meh. It's archetecturally bland and not historically important.
  • Meiji Jingu: will pale in comparison with other religious sites you'll have already seen.
  • We picked up our goshuinchō at Meiji Jingu in Harajuku. With that said, I was basically handed a pretty plain one at the time and only later found some much cooler looking ones at later temples
  • Like Meiji Jingu is near Shibuya.
  • Since you’ll already be there, add Meiji Jingu and Takeshita Street in Harajuku before your evening car meet.

Super peaceful inside coming from Shinjuku and very lush this time of year. Good to go early, as it was way more crowded by the time we were leaving.

Meiji Jingu was such a beautiful site to visit. I would go there over visiting Imperial Palace or Tsukiji Market.
