Mazzer SJ is common and for good reason. Very reliable, does a fine job, and will be easiest to have repaired.

A few years ago, I found an old Mazzer Super Jolly on Craigslist for $300 USD, watched a few YouTube videos to refurbish it, and man it’s a workhorse. I know I’ll have it for life.

I'm using a Mazzer Super Jolly. It's not state-of-the-art but it does the trick. If you buy a grinder make sure you know if the burrs can be replaced. It's easy to do on the Mazzer and I've done it before.

That's a very good one and older model of Mazzer Super Jolly. I've got mine in Ukraine for like $25 without delivery. Its huge and solid as a tank, and very reliable.

Great grinder, people don’t like doser carousels for home use but if it dosent bother you 👍🏽👍🏽. Otherwise you can get a 3d printed replacement doser for less than $40 or you can make your own if you have the know how.

Do it. It’s a tank. Will last forever. Had mine 15 years without an issue and I bought it used from a cafe that closed down. I have upgraded with SSP HU burrs and it was a game changing moment.

Parent context: If you want new then yes a hand grinder is better at that budget. Reply: If you don't mind used and like to tinker a bit the mazzer super jolly in this post is better than a 50 dollar hand grinder almost every way.

Looks like a Mazzer Super Jolly. Good grinder, will never die. You can change the doser part in front into zero retention and new burrs are not super expensive.
