Pros
- Luang Prabang is quiet, scenic, and very special. Gentle sightseeing, lovely temples, river views, and a slow rhythm that works beautifully for a multigenerational trip.
- My partner and I loved Luang Prabang in Laos! Beautiful views of the Mekong, temples, unique food, and a couple of day trip options.
- Luang Prabang
- Personally I'd go a week or so in Luang Prabang, a few days in Ao Nang and a few on Phi Phi.
- Luang Prabang + Nong Khiaw is a great 5–7 day combo for what you like. Do 3–4 nights in Luang Prabang for temples, slow vibe, Kuang Si Falls, night market, and easy cafes.
Cons
- I've been researching Luang Prabang all day so maybe might do a day trip there . It might be too ambitious though so might need to do a seperate laos trip some other time.

In Luang Prabang, definitely go see the waterfalls, in Vientiane visit the night market by the Mekong.
