Pros
- Didnt ask for this but a cast iron pan by lodge. It was $9 at target couple years ago. 0 regrets
- Lodge cast iron pan. I use it daily and it’s as good as new. Cost probably less than USD50.
- saw a post on here from someone who just bought their first lodge cast iron pan.
- It's definitely worth it, any old one you find will probably need more work than this one. And sure you could go buy a new one, but Lodge cooks great, and personally I think free cast iron is always the best cast iron.
- My 12 inch lodge is my daily, I didn't have to season it before using it either. Rinse, dry, rub with oil.

getting a 12" Lodge for the same price as someone in America is quite remarkable. After adding any costs for bulk shipping halfway across the globe or tariffs and the like to come to the same price for me on Amazon is quite a good deal.
Great pan that will last you forever.
Parent context: I've literally just had the aha moment for my Lodge cast iron pan after reading this. Thank you. I think I've always had non stick before becoming CI aware...and thought it was the same process.
Bialetti Moka Pot (Induction base) and 8 inch Lodge cast iron pan. I use these every morning for breakfast and fully expect to be using them 20 years from now :)
Personally, 99% of my cooking is accomplished with a 10in Lodge cast iron pan and a 5qt Magnalite Dutch oven I scored from Goodwill. Both pieces are older than me and aren’t even close to being worn out.
