Pros

• For the airport, some years I took the Leonardo Express but later used a bus airport shuttle which was cheaper.
• Get the Trenitalia app and set up an account, then just buy the Leonardo Express ticket right before you get on the train.

• We landed at 2pm at FCO and I had Termini tickets to Florence at 4:10, which we made by about 30 minutes. We used the Leonardo Express.
• There is actually a direct train Leonardo express running frequently

Cons

• can I take an earlier train to Termini on the Leonardo Express if we buy a specific ticket ahead of time and end up at the FCO train station a little earlier?
• Leonardo express to Roma Termini (the main station), Frecciarossa (or Italo) high speed to Florence and then a regional train straight to the town
• We will then take the Leonardo Express from FCO to our hotel in central Rome.
• Parent context: One time I regretted taking the Leonardo into the city was when I was meeting my 2 daughters. After we got off in Termini we had to get a Taxi to our Airbnb in Trastevere with all the luggage. Would have been cheaper and...
