For me, it, and the prequel, both crossed a line that Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet also crossed, but Goblin Emperor and it's spin-offs didn't. ... L&L and Becky Chambers are full of phrases like "eagerly chomping and munching on honey-scented crumbs", and there's something about it that really just doesn't click for me.
I tried L&L and quickly put it down because it was exactly what I remember seeing all over fanfiction.net circa-2006.
