Las Terrenas

I was really pleasantly surprised by Las Terrenas. I was worried it was going to be entirely new build hotels and feel like a fake tourist town but I didn't feel like that to me.

I was really pleasantly surprised by Las Terrenas. I was worried it was going to be entirely new build hotels and feel like a fake tourist town but I didn't feel like that to me. Obviously there are nice hotels and lots aimed at tourists but it wasn't soulless at all!

I did Las Terrenas for a month in October. It's such a cool town, even the crazy ATVs and motorcycles in the downtown area had some kind of wild flow to them. I loved all the hidden beaches and different areas. It's truly a beautiful place with its own charm

Las terennas is amazing.

Las Terrenas or Samaná in the DR are the “not Punta Cana” option: more local, still beachy, and cheaper.

For 4-5 days with nightlife, beach, and a bit of culture: do 2 nights in Santo Domingo (Zona Colonial, history, bars) and 2–3 in Cabarete (beach, younger crowd, nightlife) or Las Terrenas (more relaxed).
