Langkawi ended up being my and my older son’s favourite place. If you’re expecting skyscrapers and huge malls, Langkawi is not that. It’s about nature, space, beaches, and freedom.

We loved Langkawi, our accommodation was in a small village with our back garden opening up ont a view of the rice fields - genuinely like nothing I’d experienced before. Locals were so lovely and the beaches and mangroves were gorgeous. The main beach was quite busy in the evenings but every other beach on the island was nearly empty. I’d love to go back!
