Pros
- A used Korg monologue
- The small keys on the Monologue don't bother me at all in the same way the Microfreak or the Volca Bass keys do
- They are both great but bass station is what I would get
- Thanks for the recommendation I ended up getting a korg monologue for 250 on reverb.
- A great choice is a used Korg MONOlogue.
Cons
- I would consider carefully whether or not the Monologue is a good choice. In that it can only play one note at a time. That means no chords. That means as soon as you play a second note in a row, it stops playing the first one.
- One thing that gets recommended a lot is the Korg Monlogue and Korg Minilogue. If you ever chase those down you are going to want to buy replacement knobs for them because the dial indicators on them are just recessed plastic with no whi...
- Korg Monologue keybed starts from E.

My first synth was a korg monologue. That was a good synth to learn everything on - like all of the basics. It has good resale value (I would never sell mine) and it makes awesome sounds. It can remember patches, it has a sequencer plus parameter automation... It's great.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Korg Monologue or Minilogue for this. The Monologue's sequencer is a little better (16 step buttons instead of 8)... korg monologue has a little screen that'll show the wave shape, which I think is useful for intro synthesis
