Pros

  • The older 8" Kobo Forma and Supernote A6 (original, see [drop test](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/klkvKevmjj0)) use Mobius screens.
  • I have a very very old Kindle (old enough to have buttons and no backlight; it's a Kindle generation 4) and an old Kobo (Kobo Forma) and both are still fine to read on, to me.
  • I have Koreader on my kobo forma and I think if you just want koreader, either a jailbreak-able kindle or a kobo is great option.
  • Went from my 8 year old aura to the Kobo forma (8inch) (sadly doesnt exist anymore). I cant life without a flushed screen.
  • I have a forma I bought a few years ago and it is a great reader. ... I still love the device for a few reasons. ... Battery life is great. Even if I am doing a lot of reading I can easily go a week without charging. The size and shape w...

Cons

  • A disadvantage of the Forma (and unluckily also the Sage) is that their batteries are *very* small, especially for such big devices (iirc 1200mAh), so buying used could mean buying a device whose battery lasts only for a short time.
  • I have the kobo forma which is the sage predecessor, I do find it tiring to hold for long periods so much so I just got myself a Clara bw. My kobo forma is officially discontinued but still receives updates and works just fine.
  • Mine has a couple quirks that you may want to hear about. The charger is the older type of USB connection. ... The user interface is laggy. ... The power button is bizarrely difficult to press. ... It freezes. Mine has frozen a handful o...
  • I know Kobo Forma was using it, but thats no longer available except on the used market.

It freezes. Mine has frozen a handful of times, generally it seems to happen if I leave it plugged in to charge for too long.

I currently own a Kobo Forma, and I really like that I can link it to Pocket/Drive/Dropbox, and the fact that it has physical buttons to turn the page.
