Pros
- At that budget you have to hand grind and I’d get a p0 or p2
- For ~$50 you'd be looking at a Kingrinder P2 hand grinder for something that's good.
- P2 should have better grind quality at the expense of more arm power required.
- Might need to go for the P2, showing at Amazon/U.S. just now at US$44.
- you can go down in capability and price to the P1 and P2, at ~US$30+ to US$45.
Cons
- If you intend to eventually improve your espresso game by brewing non-pressurized, only P2 is (barely) capable of it.
- the p2 may work, but i'm not sure how ideal it would be. the adjustments are rather large, something like 33 microns. dialing in may be a little harder, or you may have to compromise with close enough.

Budget hand grinder - KinGrinder K2. Eventually P2. The K4, K6 or K7 are way better, but quite pricier (100+).
You will need a hand grinder like the Kingrinder P2, K2, K6 and a precise scale (0.1g readings) at a bare minimum as well.
With my P2 (33 microns/click), 1 click equals 5-7s difference. ... to make sure I wasn't imagining that my P2 would give me more consistent shots, last week I took a break from the J-Ultra and only used the P2, and I corroborated I was getting more consistent shots throughout the week.
I was also getting good-tasting shots with my P2. I can't shake the feeling that I've paid 5x more for a grinder that looks nicer but gives me less predictability. ... to make sure I wasn't imagining that my P2 would give me more consistent shots, last week I took a break from the J-Ultra and only used the P2, and I corroborated I was getting more consistent shots throughout the week.
