Pros
- Maybe King of Tokyo.
- King of Tokyo is an easy recommendation, Yahtzee mechanics but with Kaijus battling, fun art and easy to pickup
- King of Tokyo
- King of Tokyo was the heaviest games kids were willing to play and the only game they learnt the rules on their own.
- Another one is king of Tokyo, a free for all kaizu battle for Tokyo
Cons
- King of Tokyo is fine but you throw the same dice repeatedly, and there's not a ton of interesting things to do.
- The biggest issue we had are that the dice are pretty big... satisfyingly chunky for adult-sized hands, but younger kids can struggle to roll them all at once. So you just have to be careful about counting "rolls" and "re-rolls" because...
- The games that really didnt hit (some not all, weve gone through a lot over the past 10ish years): ... King of Tokyo
- Tag Team just feels like a breath of fresh air in a genre of quick battlers like Dice Throne, Unmatched, King of Tokyo without stealing their thunder.

King of Tokyo was the most complex game kids were willing to learn on their own (goes up to 6 players).
Several of my children have played this since 4yo. They'll need help learning and with the cards, but it's a pretty simple game and builds 'character' if they can handle being killed off.
It's pretty easy for kids. Read the card abilities out to them and use the energy cube cost as a good opportunity to practice math.
The biggest issue we had are that the dice are pretty big... satisfyingly chunky for adult-sized hands, but younger kids can struggle to roll them all at once. So you just have to be careful about counting "rolls" and "re-rolls" because if they're rolling in batches it has potential to be confusing about how many rolls they've done.
