KEF r3

Kef's punch way harder and more defined, they don't distort much at unlistenable volume levels. Clear winner for me, no contest in low region here. ... Very detailed, in your face mids overall. ... bright and lively. Zero EQ needed for my taste.

I have „only“ the non Meta R3 but I love these speakers!

I have kef r3 left and right, and svs ultra evo center. The panning is good

I compared these Kef’s to the R3’s and ended up keeping the R5’s because I got a deal on them, but wish I hadn’t. They sounded as identical as two speakers I’ve ever compared.

Equipment: Denon AVR X3800H 2x KEF R3 1 x KEF R2C 2x KEF Q150 2x Paradigm Atoms SE (will be replaced by Q150s at some point) 4x Paradigm H65A v2 (in ceiling) 2x SVS PB2000 Pro Display LG G6 83in Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 PC on the other side of the wall for gaming (RTX 4090, 7800x3d, 64 GB of DDR5 6000mhz cl32 RAM and 2x 2TB NVME drives) Still a bit of work to do, but I like it.

This is such a big upgrade from what I had before and I’m so grateful to experience films in such amazing quality!

System finally has this specific quality of sound, that drives your attention to music and switches off your analytical brain. It only fires up, when there is an unheard previously detail in a track I heard hundreds of times, and that of course drives dopamine. System currently is: - KEF R3

I have upgraded to the R3 (non Meta). If you like the KEF for their soundstage and details but miss some warmth, definitely try the R series as well when looking for upgrades!

Parent context: I just kind of feel like I paid for the towers for their bass and full sound only to find out that it basically hands it over to the sub, which then prompted me to think, should I have gotten KEF R3s or something of that nature and two RSL Speedwoofers and save some money? Got the budget version of your setup: as1200 with R3’s. The meters got me as well.
