Keep the Heroes Out

Pros

• I’d suggest Keep the Heroes Out! It’s not as story-driven as D&D games, but does make for some good cooperative fun in a dungeon setting. It’s easy enough to pick up that my 7 and 10 year old kids can manage, and the monsters are pretty...
• Games I do like and play solo often (and long) are for instance dead cells, the elder scrolls betrayal of the second era, tales of the red dragon inn, voidfall, keep the heroes out, slay the spire and spirit island!
• But i also love the base game. I don't think its a big issue with swingyness as i am not fighting a programme robot and doesn't need a perfect formula in every scenario.
• Not OP, but it's one of my favorite games of all time. I will warn that despite the cute aesthetic, it can be quite difficult.
• It's a step up from Horrified, I think, and the monsters you play as seem to have quite a bit more variety.

Cons

• I think the base game's difficulty is largely fixed using the official "normal difficulty" variant, where during phase 1 you alternate drawing 1 and 2 guild cards, and then draw 2 in phase 2.
• The only issue i have is that the deck building is minor and it really can't play more than 2 (arguably with 3) players.
• Keep the Heroes Out are uniquely themed but underwhelming coop... core is too random, complex and monotonous.
