Pros
- As for day trip, I absolutely suggest picking one of the following three: ...3. Kawagoe (historic town showcasing like in the Edo-era)
- Parent context: Kawagoe is nice and have an Edo period neighborhood. Kichijoji is just a modern hip area, sure go if you get Ghibli museum ticket if open that date. Reply: Good to hear Kawagoe is worth a visit instead!

- If you want shrines and stamps without the strain, Kawagoe is a much easier day trip
- Kawagoe over Kichijoji.
Cons
- Unless you're the biggest fan ever of edo period architecture, going from Kyoto to Kawagoe is a huge waste of time. You'll be traveling for like 5hs or more because you'll need to go to Tokyo, then to Kawagoe and back to Tokyo, and anyth...

I’d pick Kawagoe. Kichijoji is nice, but it’s so close to central Tokyo that I wouldn’t really consider it a day trip.
Unless you're the biggest fan ever of edo period architecture, going from Kyoto to Kawagoe is a huge waste of time. You'll be traveling for like 5hs or more because you'll need to go to Tokyo, then to Kawagoe and back to Tokyo, and anything you'll see in Kawagoe will be eclipsed by what you just saw in Kyoto.
All it really is, besides the historic Kawagoe bell tower is just a shopping street, with some cool temples scattered around like the love shrine. I think it was only fun for me because of the company, probably would not recommend to a solo traveller
All it really is, besides the historic Kawagoe bell tower is just a shopping street... probably would not recommend to a solo traveller, unless you aren't going to Kyoto
All it really is, besides the historic Kawagoe bell tower is just a shopping street... probably would not recommend to a solo traveller, unless you aren't going to Kyoto and such
