Also because of them you can almost always (in the U.S.) get free subscriptions to Kanopy and Hoopla which let you stream even more movies for free.
I’ve replaced my viewing with out-of-state patron cards to a couple of libraries which provide access to all electronic materials, including audiobooks and streaming video content through Kanopy.
iirc, each library has a different libby catalog, just like kanopy or hoopla.
Depending on where you live your library likely has digital services like Kanopy or Hoopla that let you stream movies and shows.
Kanopy has a great “classic film” library which should be what OP is looking for
