Jetour T2
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Jetour T2 is a polarizing SUV in the Middle East market, heavily praised for its Land Rover Defender-inspired styling and modern interior but criticized for its high local pricing and perceived reliability issues. While it has become a high-volume seller with busy showrooms, Reddit users are divided on whether its 'brittle' build quality and small engine justify the cost compared to competitors like the Geely Monjaro.
Pros
- Rugged and attractive exterior design heavily inspired by the Land Rover Defender
- High popularity and strong market presence in the UAE/Gulf region
- Interior features like the steering wheel and overall cabin feel are frequently praised during test drives
- Considered a 'luxury' experience by some users relative to its price point
Cons
- Local dealership pricing (approx. AED 140k) is viewed as excessive compared to import costs
- Perceived 'brittle' build quality and reports of mechanical issues in newer models
- The engine is described as 'noticeably small' for a vehicle of its size and weight
- Limited boot/trunk space compared to rivals like the Geely Monjaro
- Derivative design is criticized by some as being a 'wanna-be' copy
Caveats
- Opinions on resale value are contradictory, with some citing popularity as a plus and others fearing steep depreciation
- Significant price gap reported between local UAE dealer prices and the cost of importing the vehicle directly from China
- Mixed reviews regarding whether the vehicle truly qualifies as a 'luxury' SUV
Best for
- Buyers who prioritize rugged SUV aesthetics and a modern interior feel
- Those looking for a high-profile vehicle that is currently trending in the Middle East market
Avoid if
- You are concerned about long-term reliability and 'brittle' build quality
- You require significant cargo space for family or utility use
- You find the local dealer markup to be poor value compared to the vehicle's base manufacturing cost

What redditors said (10 of 97)
T2 would be good value at AED 80k, but AED 140 it is a poor choice.
Advise against it (my friend has one). It is expensive and surprisingly brittle.
Tank is a proper offroader, T2 is at a best a good city driver with very limited offroad capabilities (in contrast to what they advertise).
Booked T2 back in March, long story short, they cancelled my booking and now it's been almost a month I am running behind them for the deposit money. Btw it's the Ajman Branch I am dealing with.
If there's a genuine upgrade — like the 2027 jetour T2 with Michelin tyres and a few other improved features , that's worth considering.
Facing same issues with T2, I doubt will get the refund back - They were clear about it at the beginning. I did not expect such a delay back in June when I booked it
Parent context: Very informative! Is T2 underpowered? It felt sluggish to me during test drive, the hybrid option is much better imo. Reply: For comparison - Geely in normal mode is more nibler- quicker than T2 in sport mode.
T2 has fabulous look, nice interior, bold and different design. ... Seating in the front and AC - T2 is better her.
Number of T2 on road was insane, but found it a bit underpower somehow when I test drove.
avoid chinese if you want resale.
