JCally JM6 Pro
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The JCally JM6 Pro is widely recognized on Reddit as a top-tier budget USB-C DAC/amp dongle, frequently cited for offering the best "bang for your buck" in the $10–$20 price range. Utilizing the CX31993 and MAX97220 chipset, it is praised for providing significantly more power than standard unamplified dongles, making it capable of driving a variety of headphones from entry-level models to more demanding sets like the Sennheiser HD600 or Hifiman Edition XS.
Pros
- Exceptional price-to-power ratio for a budget dongle.
- Includes microphone support, making it suitable for PC and mobile gaming.
- Reliable Android compatibility with fewer reported connection issues than some competitors.
- Compact and highly portable form factor.
- Capable of driving higher impedance headphones better than standard $5–$10 adapters.
Cons
- Reaches limits on continuous output, though it handles peaks well.
- Lacks advanced features like built-in parametric EQ found in slightly more expensive alternatives.
- Output clarity and total power are lower than premium options like the FiiO KA11.
Caveats
- Users recommend using software EQ if you want to maintain or boost bass response.
- While it can drive demanding headphones to 'loud enough' levels, it may lack the headroom preferred by some enthusiasts for high-impedance gear.
Best for
- Budget-conscious audiophiles looking for an entry-level DAC.
- Users who need a portable dongle that supports a microphone.
- Powering headphones like the Sennheiser HD599 or Fiio FT1 on the go.
Avoid if
- You require hardware-level parametric EQ.
- You are looking for a high-end desktop-replacement amp for extremely power-hungry headphones.
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age of ~302 days), which may affect relevance in the fast-moving budget audio market.

I haven't paid too much attention to it previously (so when using JCAlly JM6 Pro among some other dongles)
for desktop PC you will also need Y splitter (mic + heapdhones) or dongle DAC with mic support ($12 JCAlly JM6 Pro, but even cheaper $5 CX-Pro CX31993 / DA06, will do the job)
or $12 JCAlly JM6 Pro (they will reach the limit of continuous output, but not peak).
$12 JCAlly JM6 Pro which has more power in case a higher impedance headphone would ever be connected to it.
There is even like 10 GBP JCAlly JM6 Pro dongle which can output 1.6Vrms, so that is 4.8Vrms from L30 or 5.76Vrms from Douk U3.
$12 JCAlly JM6 Pro from AliExpress should be enough, if you want higher output clarity spec and more power then $30 FiiO KA1, but they are becoming harder to find.
The best price to power ratio in this price range would be JCAlly JM6 Pro.
