• Squier (avoid Mini models), Epiphone, Yamaha, Ibanez (avoid Mikro models) and Jackson (avoid Minion models) are all great brands for starter electric guitars.
• 2nd this omg Jackson’s are so good across the spectrum
• Look at Jackson’s lower end models, they’ll be in your budget and are great for rock and metal.
• Gibson/Epiphone, Jackson, LTD, all great.
• Best: Kirkwood, Jackson, snowbird. All have great pow, terrain, and vibes

Cons

• Why: shitty headstock design that puts sideways tension on the nut, combined with glue that was not strong enough.
• Btw last I heard Jackson has some subpar Floyds even in their USA range, you should check that, like I heard they used Korean Floyd 1000s instead of the genuine ones.
• I saw a post where a person was deciding between a $1000 Schecter or Jackson, but was open to other suggestions.
• Sometimes I wish I didn’t ski because then I could be content with living somewhere cheaper instead of daydreaming on Zillow for houses I’ll never afford in Jackson or Tahoe.
