Pros
- The salt flats (but those are hard to miss), Potosi & Sucre (don't miss the fine dining restaurants!) and Isla del Sol on the Titikaka lake (at least 2 nights) for hiking, a week will be ambitious though...
- Whether the Peruvian side is worth it is debatable, but Isla del Sol is one of the highlights of South America overall
- Can also take a short trip over to Isla del Sol from there, which was great too.
- If you can, cross into Bolivia and spend one night on Isla del Sol. One of the most ethereally beautiful places I've ever visited.
- If you are only staying in La Paz, we visited Lake Titicaca and Isla del Sol, the Tiwanaku/Tiahuanaco world heritage site, Valle de la Luna, and a half day trip to Chacaltaya. The food was incredible.
Cons
- If you only have time for 1 night then no. Isla del Sol is fantastic, but you need at least 2 nights to properly enjoy it, considering the long way there and back that will eat up most of the days anyway
