I wanted to visit Iran for many years now, but something always happened before I made it.
Now is definitely not the time to go there. If the shooting and bombing starts, there are sure to be spies in Iran helping Israel to hit the targets, and security forces looking very intensively for spies. Foreigners will be prime suspects.
Becoming intimate with your girlfriend before marriage is against Iranian Islamic law, but in the last few years the Iranian government has generally ignored all such laws. No woman has to wear a veil anymore and making out in public is tolerated. The government needs the support of the people and of the young in its war with Israel, so it has drastically stopped enforcing the previous laws about wearing veils and so on.
A last country that I think is very underrated is Iran. The problem with going there is that going there will make it much much harder for you to ever get visas to many countries.

The Iranian people are some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. Tourists are naturally a rarity in the country and so we drew attention wherever we went, but everyone was always so kind, respectful and hospitable.
The country is full of beautiful landscape, and incredible historical architecture. Ancient Mosques of course feature heavily, and many are ordained with intricate geometric mosaics.
Iran, because I think it has beautiful architecture, good food, and awesome people.
