Into Thin Air and Into the Wild, both by Jon Krakauer
I really loved how he told McCandless's story: flawed, nothing to aspire to, and, as much as he had ideas about what he wanted, he was unprepraed. I found it to be an incredibly empathetic and realistic portrayal of this person
I liked the writing well enough because Krakauer, but I do NOT like McCandless so I don’t usually rec this one!
