Pros
- I loved this game so much. It might be the best seven (7) I’ve ever played, if that makes sense.
- Parent context: Shotgun hands are best hands. I didn’t finish this game but what I played was fast and fun enough. Reply: I didn’t finish this game but what I played was fast and fun enough.
- I loved the little I played of it and I agree the graphics are beautiful and the world building is unique. I feel this game had some heart put into it but the timing and people not willing to try something new didn’t work in its favour.
- Parent context: A really beautiful game even two years later Reply: Obviously it isn't on the Hellblade II level but it is still beautiful, especially if you crank everything to ultra in settings.
- The gameplay is very close to DOOM in theory but it is not as fun and this is simply because with how they have build upon the foundation of the combat.
Cons
- I played this game for an hour and dropped instantly after that, the story as generic as it gets, the performance was quite bad, bland character design, and I could let that slide but the most important part, gameplay, felt awful too.
- I just checked and I played about 6.2 hours before stopping. I feel like I can agree with pretty much everything you said about the game. Which is a shame! I was excited for this one before launch.
- To me the problem was it just never changed or evolved in meaningful ways, just added more clutter, and the campaign went on way too long for how dull the story was.
- SCORE: 2 Out of 4 Stars **The Breakdown** **+Great presentation. Graphics, sound, and effects are all snappy.** **+Combat's fundamentally solid, with 'What if Doom 2016 was cast with Naruto hand signs' vibes** **+The worldbuilding is...
- Performance sucks, story and characters are as bland as they come. Lore by itself can't save a game. This is a four at best.

Graphics, sound, and effects are all snappy.** **+Combat's fundamentally solid, with 'What if Doom 2016 was cast with Naruto hand signs' vibes** **+The worldbuilding is genuinely fascinating, with interesting lore delivered at a pretty regular pace** **+The first hours and big finale are all pretty strong** **+A good few interesting characters, even if Jak isn't among them** **-Customizability of playstyle is compromised by color-coded enemies who punish using the 'wrong' option, forcing you into a pretty inflexible 'Simon Says' game flow** **-The protagonist, Jak, is an intolerable jackass whose stupidity only grows more frustrating as the game progresses** **-The main plot buckles under its own length, spending hours just to build up incredible predictable twists** **-Pacing goes out of the window for about 60% of the game, with padded encounters, pointless open world clutter, and flimsy side quests** **-The interesting world and storyline is constantly undercut by ironically detached dialogue, 'DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN??' faux-astonishment, and forced antagonism**

Similarly, I am not fond of the music. It felt irritating and annoyed me to no end to the point where I just turned of the music for game which is very rare for me.
