HyPURgel might work too, either above or below the soft latex. That should be a bit more supportive than the memory foam with more resistance towards bottoming out, creating more of a transition.

You can always add a 1" layer of 15ILD HyPURgel underneath the memory foam. That will have a better mix of support and durability than just 3" of memory foam.
