- I use gear from Zpacks, HMG, and Tarptent and have had zero problems with quality.
- if you're going to buy an overpriced, under featured quilt at least get the HMG.
Cons
- The Veil has been ordered, but not here yet, if it fits well it will be my pick but ill fall back onto the HMG for now.
- HMG not having load lifters on a framed pack, and being super expensive, makes them a bad choice in my opinion.
- HMG are relatively expensive, a bit heavy, and often have less features (like load lifters). I like my pack but I wouldn’t point anyone to it given the wealth of wonderful cottage alternatives.
- I think this is an HMG feature lol. All their packs hurt me immediately
- Pretty much all of the features beat other packs I've tried like HMG, ULA, and even Durston.

My other HMG’s were way more comfortable, I measured the distance between the straps where they connect at the back panel to be sure and sure enough it was a manufacturer defect so they sent me a brand new one right away along with a shipping label for the defect on to return and I was good to go.

Tarptent, HMG, and Gossamer Gear have move production overseas, but all started as small US made cottage companies. They're still small to some degree but got too big to keep quality up with the demand in the US.
