Nothing beats Begur… BUT there are some comparable: Rovinj, Lindos (Rhodes), Hvar, Brela, Alghero (Sardegna), Paros & Antiparos, Cefalu, Deiá, Port de Sóller.
I’ve been to Hvar and Korcula, both in shoulder season, and they’re both lovely.
In my opinion, 5 days on Hvar is… a bit. You still have to take into account that this is a small island town. It gets super busy during the summer, but it is still by no means urban.
Maybe you can do Hvar and Bol (which are really nice islands)
Hvar is actually one of the islands I stayed at and was worried about it being a party island too. I did not notice anything in particular to suggest that, so I wouldn't worry about it.
croatia wise, i did split > hvar > dubrovnik and honestly split was my favorite, way less crowded and the palace area has some great little wine bars.
We did a Croatia trip last year - flew to Dubrovnik, ferry to Mijet, then Korcula, Hvar, Vis and then Split. Mijet and Korcula were the standouts, Hvar felt too ‘instagram’.
