HSK textbooks

Pros

• I mainly learned following HSK books and I got quite good at listening (and also reading) with the help of YouTube videos.
• The HSK books were decent too.
• The HSK books are a great resource because they include new vocabulary, a short story that uses that new vocabulary, then a section explaining the grammar points that were being used as well as practice scenarios to get you to use those...
• I started with HSK books which is government backed/sponsored/created resource (I'm not sure of the exact affiliation). Each chapter introduces about 10 new vocab words, they provide some reading comprehension texts, then breakdown the g...
• I would STRONGLY suggest the HSK books and graded reader. The HSK books have audio with them, as do the graded readers.

Cons

• I think it's better in that regard than HSK books which are often mentioned as bored on this sub (don't have experience with them).
• Oh yes in that field its very good esp compared to the current HSK books lol.
• I think if you are doing self-learning, HSK textbooks will be a nice path to follow at the start so you will be able to build a systematic foundation. But don't fully rely on the books.
