Pros

  • My 2010/2011 HP was top of the line back then. 15 years later, with just a $7 WiFi adapter, it’s still my daily driver. I almost wasted money on a replacement, but this thing could push another 5 years easy.
  • Ended up getting the HP one in the end due to the storage factor over the Chromebook. He's use to windows anyway and prefers Microsoft word over Google so it won out!
  • I literally have a 6-year-old HP laptop I bought for about $400 open box. The screen is still fantastic, the only thing that makes it unusable is a broken fan that causes it to overheat within about 30 minutes.

Cons

  • Well in the end I ended up returning the HP laptop for the Dell laptop. Even thought there's a big difference in screen size, with the Dell laptop I can upgrade the RAM and storage. So that outweighs everything else.
  • My pc is what i normally use with windows and a lowgrade hp laptop for school.
  • Never buy a HP laptop is my experience
  • typical HP laptop shenanigans, you can eithe use some bonding medium like others suggested to get the mounts to stay attached to the plastic that they were molded into, or you can just get a new A-Cover, though the hinge mounts are likel...
  • Was going home today and I had trouble closing my HP laptop. Seems the lid is out and I guess I’ll have to get a new one.

typical HP laptop shenanigans, you can eithe use some bonding medium like others suggested to get the mounts to stay attached to the plastic that they were molded into, or you can just get a new A-Cover, though the hinge mounts are likely to rip out again if you don't loosen them.

My previous HP laptop crapped out on me after not booting up and telling me I needed to trouble shoot or reset.
