How I Met Your Mother

Pros

• The characters are very likeable and you will care about them over time, you will also adjust to the style of comedy. The overacting is on purpose, it’s very classic sitcom-y in its presentation but it does have a lot of real moments too...
• The character development is actually pretty solid and NPH's performance makes way more sense when you understand Barney's whole deal, plus the emotional beats hit hard when you're invested in everyone's journey
• the comedy is definitely goofy at times throughout, but it's not the bulk of the show. it's really worth a watch!
• The show is fantastic, but it definitely took me a little while for my brain to ignore the laughter. It’s not like your average sitcom, but it’s presented like one.

• Parent context: I watched it and enjoyed it. But looking back, it was just ok. It isnt a show I ever think about or want to watch again. There are better series. Reply: Ah ok I loved it. Quote it. LoL what other shows are better series?

• I would say, just try it from episode 1 till 5th. Still not getting in to it, drop it. It's not like there aren't any other shows to watch. I watched at least 15 episodes and decided to drop it.
• not some old-style grayish looking pixelated show like himym, friends, parks and recreation
• Revisited it a year back and boy was it unpleasant. Ted is not a romantic. He's problematic.
