Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • I didn’t like any of the Hifiman except for the HE1000. In terms of comfort, aesthetics, and even sound; I don’t think they beat out the other names I mentioned above.
  • for headphones, the Hifiman HE1000 V2.
  • Hifiman He1000 Stealth or SE - another step up
  • For that kind of money you can get an open box Hifiman He1000 Stealth…
  • A honorable mention is the he1k unveiled, probably the most comfortable headphone I’ve ever worn that was a huge “wow” it’ll need some EQ to be great with those genres but it’s just a simple bass shelf and cutting the highs

Cons

  • the Nano i would only get if you are a treblehead, they struck me a little like some Beyerdynamics of the DT lineup, was simply too much for me, but many people love them.
  • Sounded really good, but not good enough to push the original HE1000 out as my standard.
  • An all around improvement over the HE1000 Stealth. It fixed a lot of the treble issues I had to eq out on my HE1000v2's.
  • I ordered a he1000 from them last year and it didn't have mold or any structural issues. It was pretty banged up and sounded notably different from the A-stock unit in a A/B test so I returned then.
  • I have Hifiman's "power trio" that consists of the Edition XS Stealth, Arya Stealth and HE1000 Stealth. Those three have similar acoustic properties even though they vary in tonality and frequency response.

My Hifiman HE1000 Stealth. Great build and sound. Balanced, I don’t even use EQ.

Would be a steal for a Wonderful Sounding Headphone after coming from the old Audio Technica R70X.

I'm sensitive to treble myself and use a Hifiman HE1000 V2 Stealth, I have turned the highs a LOT lower and also lowered the upper mids. It'll sound "dark" to most other people but it sounds nice, neutral and enjoyable to me.

I really like the sound of them so far but I am waiting to get the Topping DX5 II in the mail to properly test both headphones.
