• I also have a Caldera closed that I use in my office out of a Hifiman EF400. Both run them pretty well, i would guess.

• The EF400 is already an R2R-capable combo; that's one of the upgrade paths I'd take with planars and you already have that nailed down. I don't think moving up to a higher-end R2R is going to move the needle that much for you
• I own Audeze LCD-3 and HiFiMan HE1000 Stealth headphones, which I use with a HiFiMan EF400 amplifier, and I'm very happy with them.

Cons

• I do think I might eventually want to upgrade to a more powerful amplifier than the EF400, since I also picked up the HE-6se, but otherwise I'm very happy with this setup.
