Pros
- The lands before Hel from Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. ... The setting of this game is just beautiful, with woods as ancient as the world itself, filled with life and...death.
- Interesting, I am a pretty picky gamer but man I *loved* this game. The visuals were insane, the atmosphere was creepy and engaging, I didn't feel bored at all
- The voice acting, the visuals, the character animations, and the portrayal of mental illness are all superb. ... everything about the experience is top notch.
- Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is much simpler game, but all the locations are amazing and gave grim and gritty feeling, which GoW is lacking.
Cons
- The game-ification of "line up trees to make a shape" is kind of laughably uninspired game-design even if I did enjoy the first one.
- Parent context: I spent many years dealing with psychosis due to my bipolar disorder. Hated this game for its portrayal. I know it’s not the same for everyone, but it was so far off the mark from my experiences and understanding of it th...

- Like, I was enjoying parts of it even though I felt like the team was missing the mark, but then the ending gave me the ol' "Seriously, that's it? That's your message?" eyeroll. ... Like the gameplay is the worst part of it.

I went into it aware that the narrative, sound design, and cinematography were its strong points. ... The difference with Hellblade though, is just how un-fun the game play elements were. They completely removed me from the story and instead of contemplating the previous scene and what I'd experience next, I was wrapped up in how much I hate looking for runes. But I think my love for it outweighs the parts I despise.

At its core, it’s an interactive story that explores horror, psychosis, and >!family abuse!< through its aesthetics (primarily the visual and sound design). The action-RPG elements and puzzles are there mainly to support the narrative.
I'm genuinely torn on this game and I've never been so conflicted about anything I don't think. As a video game, I hate it. The mechanics are terrible and it's not fun to play. But as a story, I absolutely love it.
