Pros

  • Helinox (South Korea)
  • But for the price with the Helinox sale right now I'd probably go helinox.
  • If you were into backpacking I would say the advantage goes to the Helinox because of the 1 lb weight difference.
  • Helinox - I had a camp chair with deteriorated shock cord. Sent them an email and they gave me the option of stringing it myself with instructions and they give me the cord or they do it for me but I ship it to them. I picked the latter...
  • I have Helinox chairs too and, yes, they are expensive, but very comfortable and good quality. Managed to bend one of the poles and Helinox was very quick to send a replacement part and instructions

Cons

  • Unfortunately the helinox, big agnes, and nemo chairs all promote slouching for me that just wrecks my back.
  • Tried Helinox and didn't find it very stable.

Helinox - I had a camp chair with deteriorated shock cord. Sent them an email and they gave me the option of stringing it myself with instructions and they give me the cord or they do it for me but I ship it to them. I picked the latter route and had them restring the chair for me.

Agree with the Helinox suggestion. Haven’t had mine as long but absolutely love the quality and how compact they are. Quite comfortable too.

Parent context: I have the REI version. It's good enough, and I would think they're better than the multiple Amazon knockoffs. I bought the Costco version of the taller and highback version earlier this year, and I've been happy with it. I don't think they have a round version of it. I got it for $38 in store. It's online for 2 for $100. Reply: And that's why I prefere my Helinox over my OneTrigis: comfort. The OneTigis cuts into my knee bends, the Helinox doesn't.

But honestly if you’re going to be using the chair regularly especially on rougher terrain, it’s worth saving up just a bit more and getting the Helinox, it’s the best for good reason!
