Pros

Cons

• Hakone: the Free Pass only pays off if you actually ride the loop (cable car/ropeway/sightseeing boat) — otherwise skip it.
• with both of those gone, most of what the free pass is buying you is gone too, so price your actual legs before you commit to it.
• Without the ropeway, is the pass still worth it, or are we better off paying per ride?
• The Hakone Free Pass also includes roundtrip tickets between Tokyo and Odawara Station, so that's an additional item you may not be utilising. Again, maybe the logic checks out that you could buy a two-day pass and use it for one day. Yo...
• Also, the cheapest Hakone Free Pass covers two days. Are you going to purchase a two-day pass for a one-day excursion? Do the math again. It may not be worthwhile.
