Pros

  • a huge 240v Grizzly also from my Grandpa.
  • Grizzly: yes. I trust them. And $40 is in line with Amazon prices.
  • Try to find an older unisaw or grizzly, something that is a cabinet saw.
  • Get jointer/planer combo, I like grizzly.
  • I’ll stretch to the Grizzly if that’s an option. I’d try to negotiate to $1000 if it’s been up for a while but it’s a nice machine at 2HP and the food brake among the other features. Even at $1100 I think it’s your best option on the lis...

Cons

  • For $2000 and less, including freight, you're looking at any 6 inch Grizzly, King Canada, or Magnum.
  • the Grizzly makes a cheap and decent if not clunky design. all the things you are requiring but not great for anything shorter than like 6 inches on spindle cause the tailstock pieces are designed kinda backwards. but if you are not doi...
  • Ended up having to look on grizzly to find a comparable one.
  • Spokeshave can be found at a specialty store like Rockler, Woodcraft, or even Grizzly
  • Overall Grizzly has some very economical products that I’ve purchased in the past with no problems. But if you do have a problem, expect to get the absolute worst customer service possible that takes many months to rectify if they do it...

My prior saws were Grizzly and Delta, and both were, IMO, better saws once you factor out the blade stop stuff.

the Grizzly makes a cheap and decent if not clunky design. all the things you are requiring but not great for anything shorter than like 6 inches on spindle cause the tailstock pieces are designed kinda backwards. but if you are not doing delicate stuff its about as price per pound as you get.. its similar in build but better quality than the harbor freight stuff. Grizz customer service is responsive but does not always have great answers or options.
