Grell Audio OAE2

Pros

• my grell oae2 are coming so im very excited to listen to them because some people are comparing the with the hd600 and hd800. The thing with these headphones is positioning , if you don’t do it properly they will really sound broken.

Cons

• Listened to this at Audiophonie in Hamburg. Honestly, not bad but nothing special at all and definitely didn't notice any of this you mention about soundstage or 3D effect. Just ok.
• Now, I'm not going to say you should go out and buy one. I'm hesitant to even call it good. But it is very unique and unlike pretty much any other headphone I've tried. For the majority of people I think a more traditional headphone like...
• The biggest offender for me was some peaks in the treble that got pretty hot. But this time around, I think I ***got*** the staging effect the OAE2 is going for. I'm going to say some buzzwords that I normally never use: there's a sense...
• First, the not-so-good. The midrange is noticeably weird sounding. There's an emptiness and hollowness in the midrange. Vocals and instruments are all still present, but it feels like there's a hole somewhere in the timbre.
• that driver position is more extreme than anything beyer or sony or ultrasone has done before... for me, 5mm left or right can ruin the sound...
