gravel bike

Pros

• If I had to go down to one bike, I'd choose my gravel bike. It's versatile enough for paved roads, dirt roads, and moderate trails.
• go for a racing geometry gravel bike, nowadays you can put there smth like 2.1 mtb tire (look on yt what people are using for Unbound race, smth like specialized crux for example) it will work great for winter riding
• Personally if I only had one bike it would be a gravel or MTB bike. Ride anywhere and anything.
• Also finally got myself a nice gravel bike and have been LOVING it.
• I got a gravel bike since I was getting bored with local road routes. It more than doubled the number of accessable routes and has helped keep riding fresh and fun.

Cons

• Brought my gravel bike on a (road) club ride once as I had a last minute mechanical. Never again. I kept up but nearly killed myself doing it.
• my 240lbs brother routinely has issues with his gravel bike.
• Parent context: An xc hardtail with gravel tires on it is a ton of fun to ride. Coming from mtb, I honestly find my gravel bike boring as hell but the xc hardtail pedals just as fast and but you can still have fun on the bike because of...
• Don’t even try suggesting a gravel bike, I own one and I think they suck at any off road surfaces that are less than perfect and smooth gravel.
• Still don't get why people would buy an expensive gravel bike though.
