Grand Theft Auto VI
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Grand Theft Auto VI is viewed as an inevitable cultural and financial juggernaut that effectively locks down the open-world crime simulator niche. However, community sentiment is currently weighed down by frustrations regarding its initial console exclusivity, Rockstar's history with microtransactions, and the potential human cost of its development.
Pros
- Unrivaled attention to detail in the open-world crime genre.
- Expected to be a record-breaking release with massive longevity.
- Considered the primary reason to own current-generation consoles like the PS5.
Cons
- Lack of a day-one PC release is a major point of contention for hardware enthusiasts.
- Concerns over aggressive microtransactions and data collection based on previous franchise entries.
- Significant ethical concerns raised regarding developer burnout and 'crunch' culture.
Caveats
- Hardware requirements and performance (like 60 FPS) remain speculative as the game is not yet released.
- Release dates are subject to change, which frequently causes other major titles to shift their schedules to avoid competition.
Best for
- Console gamers wanting the definitive open-world experience.
- Fans of the franchise's established crime-simulator formula.
Avoid if
- You are a PC-only gamer unwilling to wait for a port.
- You are highly sensitive to aggressive monetization or 'labor of dollars' business models.

When it comes out, if you can’t, we’re by and large screwed
Lowering the resolution even down to 720p and then running it in windows mode so the 720p is t so stretched might do it. But no one knows. It’s not out yet.
No one knows, but probably not
Based on cyberpunk performance, the 5060 would struggle. 5060 only gets 2.3x performance when using 4x frame gen. You're losing over 40% of your base fps. (Cyberpunk, 54 fps no frame gen, 79 fps 2x, 104 fps 3x, 123 fps 4x. So 45 fps turns to 26 fps base with 4x. So with 4x you'd get 104fps with a 26 fps base which feels terrible.)
NTC is highly unlikely to come to gta6. It is still being tested and consoles use AMD GPUs. It would require an entire overhaul of the game they've been working on for consoles and all for new tech that is still being tested.
It's RUMORED to be 1440p upscaled to 4k at 30fps on the xbox series x and ps5. The ps5 pro will be upscaled and get 60 fps. These are all rumors.
The game is, at least, two years out before it comes to PCs. We just don't know, at this time.
There is no way in hell that gta 6 is unplayable on ryzen 7 5700x and above.
Screams they were rushing for March to get out in front of GTA 6, and now can take the extra time they need with its push to November
Plus the GTA 6 hype is a big factor as well, especially with how Xbox has utterly collapsed. PS5 is THE console to get for anyone who wants to play GTA.
