Grand Egyptian Museum

Afterwards, we took a taxi to GEM. On Saturdays, GEM works till 9-10 PM, so after dinner inside GEM, we explored the museum till 10 PM.

We visited GEM and NMEC (mummies here!). Both are absolutely wonderful. GEM tickets should be pre-booked. Both museums have good descriptions, hence no guide is required.

They do seem to be improving a lot with the GEM and the new pyramid gate and bus system.

Grand Egyptian Museum (9/10)

The new museum looks so cool

Huge improvement to the old museum. 12 galleries plus Tutankhamen exhibition, it will take anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to see it all depending on how interested you are, but I would recommend taking a good guide and just listening to the stories. The building is impressive, built with the help of the Japanese, come in the morning as it gets very crowded after 11.

Day 2: Inside the GEM, also easy (we liked it)

No advice really, but if you do go to the Pyramids there's a new museum, the Grand Egyptian Museum, that opened recently. It looks really cool!

The Grand Egyptian Museum was really big and exhaustive. Definitely worth it, but try to go early (unlike me) because it gets very crowded, which can cloud the experience.
