Pros

  • I personally like the idea of a Goruck GR2 in 34 or 40L
  • I use goruck gr2 for the same purpose u mentioned. U can try ripstop robic for not so tactical look.
  • It is very similar in style but has much more comfortable/beefy straps and super well built dare I say "bullet proof" construction.
  • I personally have the GR2 and I love it. I use it for travel (short gateways or as carry on for longer flights) as well as to the office or the gym. It’s built really well.
  • -GoRuck GR2 (Most comfortable-I have the 34L but they make a 40-backpack carry only)

Cons

  • Get a hip belt because you are going to be hating life without one.
  • Goruck. Their GR2 comes in 26L, 34L and 40L.
  • But if I had to only have 1, it’d be my GoRuck GR2
  • Check out the GR1 (everyday size), the GR2 (a bit bigger, might be a large fit if you have a smaller build) and the GR3 (really more of a travel back pack than something you'd carry to class).
  • I currently use the GoRuck GR2 but it is just a little too much bag for me.

Check out GoRuck. I have a GR1 and a GR2. The original made in America versions, which were actually made out of heavier fabric. You can find them on eBay. I’ve had both for about 15 years, travelled the world with them, hiking, checking them on planes, and as day packs. They will outlive me.
