Ginza

Pros

• Staying in Ginza, Tokyo. We had shopping we could do within 10 mins from the hotel, the metro line was in front of the hotel - it was very practical. The main station was also not far away. Would probably do it again.
• You can have a glass of sake with sashimi in Ginza, which is delicious
• I got Accor for 70k for 4 nights in ginza. The rooms are really small (big problem in tokyo), but otherwise the location is top notch. Maybe the best area to stay.
• The depachikas (department store food basements) in Ginza are AMAZING. I loved wandering through all the food aisles.

Cons

• I see it compared to champs elysee which I usually skip in Paris because it’s a bunch of the same boring shops they have everywhere. Although maybe a Ginza Six is a cool experience without entering shops?
• I wouldn't pick a hotel in Ginza if none of my plans included it. And as a neighborhood it's kinda meh unless you love high end shopping.
• If you don't need a specific store that's only located in Ginza, going there is also unnecessary. You'll be seeing literally all of the stores in Shibuya, Haraujku, Shinjuku, etc.
• cut ginza entirely — for an anime/merch trip it's the least interesting tokyo neighborhood you could visit.
• Everything opens between 10 and 11. Kinda a waste going to Ginza for that. Everything you named you can find in the rest of the shopping districts in Tokyo.
